I took photos of most of the women, hoping to catch one of the
eventual winner and here she is, Australia’s Emma Snowsill
walking to the start after introduction.
I did not watch much of the women's race after the swimming and
until the bike part was nearly over, just listening and seeing the
big screens. After sampling food, I went overthe bridge to the
grandstand. I took a picture from the bridge that happens to include
Australia’s Emma Snowsill, the eventual winner. Here she is in
mid pack during bicycle. She is 4th bike in this photo.
I watched from the stands for a while, and went down to catch the
finish. Here is Emma Snowsill getting near the finish line.
Here is Emma Snowsill touching the tape at the finish line.
Here is Emma Snowsill being interviewed.
It is hard to know before the race wo the winner will be. He is at
the far left, under the "i" in triathelon.
The winner, Tim Don, can be seen here in mid pack on the way from
the water to the bikes with that determined look, pumping those arms
and legs.
This is an early shot in the bike race. I think the winner must be
behind someone in the middle of the shot.
Early leaders in bike race.
These guys are going fast!
The lead pack, 2nd lap. Winner is out of sight, but eventual 2nd
place is in the hunt.
It is hard to know who to shoot at 20+ mph. Tim Don is on the
left.
A couple guys break from the pack early on.
These guys are determined!...
But the winner is not far behind. Seen here getting water, biding
his time, following his plan.
A trip through the grandstand later, those fast guys have slipped
back a bit.
Tim Don is still hanging in wait, on left in this shot.
The pack, later in bike race.
The pack, again.
A lot can happen in transition. Eventual 2nd place is first out,
eventual winner is putting on his hat but only a few places back.
The winner has his hat ready, 2nd place adjusting his.
Winner Tim Don kicking it!
